REFILLING THE STIHL SUPERCUT 20-2 MOWING HEAD
The SuperCut 20-2 is the standard cutting attachment for professional and farming Brush Cutters. It can take up to 3m of the STIHL 2.4 mm orange line in each side.
- 1. Take 6 m of 2.4 mm nylon line and cut it in half.
- 2. Press sideways on the indentation in the top casing and open the mowing head.
- 3. Take the old line and the spool out.
- 4. Insert the end of the new trimmer line in the eyelet of the spool.
- 5. Follow the direction of rotation and wind the line up tightly and evenly.
- 6. Hook the end of the line into the groove on the spool; make sure you fill the top chamber first.
- 7. Repeat step 4 - 6 to fill the bottom part of the spool.
- 8. Insert the spool into the top casing. Remove the ends of the lines from the grooves in the spool, go across the back of the loop and place it in the eyelet provided in the mowing head.
- 9. Repeat step 8 for the opposite side.
- 10. Clip the cover back on.
- 11. Leave around 10 cm of line each side; trim any excess line.
IS YOUR NYLON LINE BRITTILE AND HARD TO WORK WITH?
When Nylon Line is stored it can become brittle and difficult to work with, we recommend soaking the new mowing line in water for at least 24 hours before loading it in your Grass Trimmer. Hydrating the nylon line increases its elasticity. You can keep the mowing line wrapped around the reel and place it directly into the water.
