STIHL HTA 50 Battery Pole Pruner : A Must-Have Pruner
The HTA 50 Battery Pole Pruner from the STIHL AK Battery System, is packed with operator-friendly features and is ideal for maintaining trees in the garden. You can comfortably tackle jobs, such as thinning out shrubs, pruning fruit trees or removing dangerous branches, all from the safety of the ground.
PACKED WITH FEATURES
LIGHTWEIGHT WITH EXCELLENT CUTTING PERFORMANCE
There is no drive shaft in the HTA 50, which makes the tool very light at just 3.9 kg and also cuts down the vibrations. The chain is driven directly by the motor in the cutting head, providing excellent torque for reliable cutting performance.
BRANCH HOOK
The branch hook is handy for pulling down smaller branches suspended in the tree canopy so you can clear the way for pruning other branches.
SIDE-MOUNTED CHAIN TENSIONER
The side-mounted chain tensioner makes looking after the guide bar and chain easy, all that’s required to access them for maintenance is a flat head screwdriver or the tool supplied in the box.
ERGONOMIC SPLITABLE SHAFT
The total length of the HTA 50 is 280cm, but this can be extended to 330cm with the HTA Shaft Extension. The main shaft splits in half for easy transport. Splitting the shaft also makes sharpening the chain much easier, as it’s more practical to fit the guide bar into a vice.
AUTOMATIC CHAIN OILING
Not only does the HTA 50 feature automatic chain oiling, the chain oil tank also has a semi-transparent inspection window so you can keep an eye on the oil level. You should check the oil every time the battery is recharged and top it up as necessary.
SAFETY FIRST: HOW TO USE YOUR BATTERY POLE PRUNER SAFELY
WEAR APPROPRIATE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPEMENT
Wearing a durable protective helmet is crucial when operating a Pole Pruner as falling debris and branches pose a significant risk. Additionally, safety glasses are essential for shielding your eyes against sawdust, twigs, and leaves. We also recommend wearing robust work gloves and sturdy boots.
NEVER CUT DIRECTLY OVERHEAD
Your Pole Chainsaw should never exceed a 60° angle in relation to the ground, to reduce the chances of a branch falling on your head.
BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS
When using a Pole Pruner, it is essential to ensure that there are no electric cables, power lines, bystanders, animals, or other potential hazards within a 15m radius. Additionally, if the ground is uneven or sloped, it is crucial to consider the trajectory of the branches after they are cut to prevent any accidents.
TAKE CAUTION WITH LARGER BRANCHES
To prevent branches from swinging dangerously and posing a risk, cut the branch back in stages and into smaller, more manageable pieces.
