Details

The STIHL MSA 70 cordless chainsaw is a lightweight saw designed for gardeners, cutting small firewood, and property maintenance. It excels in cutting trees, shrubs, and smaller building tasks.

This chainsaw is compact and lightweight at 2.5kg, and it's so simple to use - just pop in the battery and go! The MSA 70 is also packed with innovative STIHL technology, such as Quick Chain Tensioning, so you can tighten the chain without tools and a variable trigger speed control, allowing precise power adjustments for various tasks. Safety is also a priority with a QuickStop Super chain brake and quiet operation to protect your hearing.

The MSA 70 comes with a domestic 2-year warranty, and you will have access to ongoing service and support from your local STIHL SHOP.

The MSA 70 is part the STIHL AK Battery System the same battery can be used in a range of tools including a Hedge Trimmer, Blower, Line Trimmer and Lawn Mowers, giving you all the versatility you need.

Run time on AK 20 battery: Up to 40 minutes - 160 cuts

Run time on AK 30 battery: Up to 45 minutes or 180 cuts

Soft Grip Handle With Ergo Lever

Thanks to the soft grip handle, this tool fits comfortably in your hand and ensures a secure grip, even in wet conditions.
STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning (B)

Tension the chain easily without using tools or coming into contact with the sharp chain. Just release the sprocket cover and turn the adjusting wheel until the optimum tension is reached.

STIHL Electric Motor (EC)

The STIHL brushless electric motor (EC) is extremely energy efficient and does not require any maintenance. It ensures the tool has the optimum power output at all times. The motor runs quietly and generates very low vibrations.
Control Lever with variable trigger speed

The lever grants you the ability to manage the speed of the chainsaw, allowing for easy power adjustment and control.

QuickStop Super Brake (Q)

An additional braking system for increased safety, designed by STIHL. The Chain is stopped within a second, helping to protect the user.
Neutral Battery Position

The Battery can be inserted into the tool in 2 steps. In the first position, the Battery does not connect with the contacts, in this position it is secure but the tool will not operate allowing for safe transport. In the second position the battery is completely inserted ready for operation of the tool.

Transparent Oil Tank

The transparent tank allows for easy and quick monitoring of the chain oil level. This ensures that you can efficiently refill the chain oil when needed, enabling long-term effective work.
Two Hand Operation

The MSA 70 features an ergonomic handle tube and a comfortable rear operating handle with soft components. This two-hand operation ensures comfortable, effortless, and safe work in any situation.

Q: What Type of Property is Suitable for?

A: This saw is designed for garden maintenance and cutting smaller diameter firewood.

Q: What size branches can I cut?

A: Small diameter branches up to 12 inch

Q: What should I wear when using this Chainsaw?

A: We recommend that you wear snug-fitting clothes with Chainsaw protective legwear, glasses, gloves and sturdy boots or shoes, and tie back long hair.

Q: How long will the Battery last?

A: The AK 20 Battery will last up to 40 minutes or 160 cuts, this does depend on what is being cut and how the tool is being used.

Q: Are the Batteries Interchangeable?

A: There are three different interchangeable batteries in the AK range, which all have different capacities. We do not recommend the AK 10 battery for the MSA 70.

Q: How long does it take to charge?

A: To fully charge an AK 20 Battery it takes 180 minutes, or to charge it up to 80%, it takes 135 minutes with the AL 101 charger.

Q: Does the performance of the Battery reduce as it depletes?

A: No, there is no gradual drop in performance – the battery runs at full power until it is fully depleted.

Q: Does this tool come with a warranty?

A: Yes, the MSA 170 Battery Chainsaw comes with a domestic STIHL 2-year warranty.

Looking after your Chainsaw
