Details

The MS 391 features the STIHL 2-MIX engine technology that is fuel efficient with reduced emissions. Although it is equal in weight to the MS 311, the MS 391 is more powerful resulting in a greater power to weight ratio. This is a Chainsaw that is designed for big jobs on farms or lifestyle properties including felling trees, cutting firewood and cleaning up after a storm.

Your Chainsaw will require engine oil and bar lube. We recommend STIHL HP ULTRA TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL and STIHL SYNTH PLUS CHAIN LUBRICATION for your machine.

Modern, powerful and economical engine. Provides fuel savings and reduced emissions.
Anti-vibration System

Vibrations from power tools can lead to negative effects on blood vessels. STIHL has developed a system for minimizing the levels. This also helps reduce operator fatigue and provides a more comfortable working experience.

Ematic Chain Lubrication System

A reservoir holds bar oil until it is picked up by the passing chain. This achieves maximum lubrication resulting in longer wear and less oil consumption.
Single Master Control Lever

All the important functions of start, choke, throttle and stop are operated via a single lever.

Easy Open Fuel and Oil Tanks

Special caps on the fuel and oil tanks allow for easy opening and re-fueling.
Reduced Air Filter Maintenance

A pre-separation filter system is used to clean the air before it reaches the main air filter. The benefit is that maintenance of the machine is reduced.

Side Chain Tensioner

There is a tensioning screw on the side of the Chainsaw through the sprocket cover. This is easy to use and removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain.
Controlled-delivery Oil Pump

Different bar lengths, wood types and sawing techniques require different amounts of oil. The controlled-delivery oil pump allows the user to select just the right amount of oil for the job.

Decompression Valve

The decompression valve, vents compression in the cylinder to reduce the cranking effort.

Noice!!

Awesome saw. Good bang for your buck with the old ‘Fieldays’ special. Been perfect for firewood. Keep it razor sharp so absolutely chews through logs. Bucking spurs a bit small if you’re dealing with thick bark or awkward shaped logs.

impressive

i was going to buy something a little smaller to cut some hardwood stumps down - glad i didnt - this saw had to work for that job but did it without any major grizzles. Absolutely can cut hardwood its entire length - key to any chainsaw..... keep the chain sharp. this is a strong piece of equipment considering its physical size. along with a smaller electric chainsaw im confident i can tackle anything on my lifestyle block with ease.

This saw is very powerful for its size and weight and cuts extremely well. It is very well engineered and cuts timber along its full bar length with ease. It starts very easily even without the decompression valve and cuts 20" pine logs like they're butter.
