The STIHL HSA 50 cordless hedge trimmer is a versatile tool that is perfect for maintaining private gardens and properties. It can be used in noise-sensitive areas and is efficient in cutting hedges, trimming shrubs, and caring for topiaries.

This battery trimmer features double-sided blades with droplet-shaped cutters that hold branches in place while cutting, ensuring a precise and clean cut. The diamond-ground and hardened cutting blade can operate at 2,800 strokes per minute with minimal vibration and can cut up to 300 meters on a single charge. The cutting blade has a length of 50 cm and is protected by a screwed-on tip protector for when you are working close to the ground.

The STIHL HSA 50 is a lightweight Hedge Trimmer that offers optimal balance, making it an excellent choice for homeowners. It is part of the AK Cordless Range with interchangeable batteries - the battery in this tool can also be used in other tools including a Line Trimmer, Blower, Lawnmowers, and Chainsaws.

Double Handle Grip

By pressing the multifunction handle and the rear handle at the same time the HSA 50 starts easily. The two-handed control is suitable for both left-handed and right-handed users.

Neutral Battery Position

There are two positions for the battery in the tool - in the first neutral position, the battery is secured in the machine but is not connected to the contacts. This means you can carry the tool around without accidentally starting it. In the second position, the battery is fully pushed in and you can easily start the tool.
Blade Tip Protector

The tip protector helps protect the blades from damage when cutting near the ground or along walls.

Q: How long does the battery last?

A: The recommend AK 10 Battery will last up to 55 minutes, this does depend on what is being cut and how the tool is being used.

Q: How long does it take to charge?

A: To fully charge an AK 10 Battery it takes 95 minutes, or to charge it up to 80%, it takes 70 minutes with the AL 101 charger.

Q: Are the Batteries Interchangeable?

A: Yes, all of the tools in the STIHL AK Battery System are interchangeable. There are three different batteries in the range, which all have different capacities. For the HSA 50, we recommend the smaller capacity AK 10 battery as it is lighter and means the tool is perfectly balanced, but you can also use the AK 20 and AK 30 battery in this tool.

Q: Will the blades need sharpening?

A: Keeping the blades sharp will give a neat cut on whatever you are trimming. If you notice that the blades are getting jammed easily or the machine is struggling, the blades may need sharpening. Our STIHL SHOP retailers can do this for you or it is easy to do yourself.

Q: What should I wear when using this tool?

A: We recommend that you wear snug-fitting clothes, eye protection, gloves and sturdy boots or shoes, and tie back long hair.

Q: Does this tool come with a Warranty?

A: Yes, the HSA 50 comes with a STIHL domestic 2 year warranty.
