WHICH IS BETTER: NYLON LINE OR A BLADE?
Metal cutting blades are more robust than Nylon Line and therefore offer higher cutting performance. Blades are particularly useful in very thick vegetation and are definitely necessary in dense bushes or for cutting thin trees. Mowing line, on the other hand, is the best choice when working along walls or paved paths because it will not be damaged as quickly when it comes into contact with a hard surface.
The good thing is, with STIHL you don't even have to make a decision! Many STIHL Brushcutters offer the option of using both cutting tools.
STIHL AUTOCUT: SEMI-AUTOMATIC MOWING HEADS
The STIHL AutoCut is a practical two-line mowing head for Line Trimmers and Brushcutters. It mows quickly and efficiently, and can be fitted with a wide range of durable nylon line in different shapes and thicknesses. This makes the AutoCut the ideal universal tool for mowing work.
To readjust the line to the correct length, you only need to tap the head on the ground once while the engine is running. This triggers an adjustment mechanism that automatically provides the correct length of line through the centrifugal force of the rotating head.
The "C" in the model name on some heads indicates the comfort version of the AutoCut head. With this version there is no need to open the head to wind up the mowing line when refilling, because the head can easily be filled from the outside.

STIHL POLYCUT: MOWING HEAD WITH PLASTIC BLADES
The STIHL PolyCut Head comes with plastic blades, which are really easy to change, you don't need any tools to this do this. If necessary, the mowing head can also be filled with Nylon Line in various shapes and thicknesses, depending on the model.
The Polycut head is ideal when there are lot of obstacles as it is not as easily damaged as a metal blade.

STIHL DUROCUT: UNIVERSAL MOWING HEAD
With the DuroCut mowing head, STIHL brings you convenience, no more laborious winding up of the mowing line, you simply insert pre cut-to-length pieces of nylon into the head.
Designed especially for the DuroCut head, STIHL has developed DuroCut Line which has a flexible core and a hard outer layer to enable clean work even in high, dense and slightly woody vegetation.
If necessary, you can also fill the DuroCut head with other types of Nylon Line.

THE STIHL MOWING HEADS FOR PROFESSIONALS
The STIHL TrimCut and SuperCut mowing heads, have been specially developed for the requirements of professional use and are particularly robust.
STIHL TRIMCUT: MANUAL CUTTING HEAD
The STIHL TrimCut is a manual trimmer head, which means that the line is readjusted by hand and you have better control over how much you are using.
The STIHL TrimCut line head has really low vibrations and is a robust Brushcutter head that is particularly effective for lawn edges, working around trees, along walls and other obstacles. A large selection of mowing lines in various shapes and diameters is available for this head.
The "C" in the model name indicates the comfort version of the TrimCut head. There is 2 ways to reload the line, from the outside using the easy grip points or by removing the spool.
