    The HLA 56 is a light Cordless Long Reach Hedge Trimmer which can be used for cutting taller hedges in your garden. You can cut branches up to 16 mm in diameter and the cutting head is adjustable to cut angles ranging from -45° to +90° offering you a lot of versatility.

    The total length of the HLA 56 is 210 cm, you can safely trim tall hedges without standing on a ladder and for storage and transportation it can be quickly taken apart without the need for tools (when taken apart the longest section is 115 cm). For really tall hedges we have an optional 50 cm extension shaft available.

    The double-sided blades cut smoothly and efficiently on both the upwards and downwards stroke. The blades are droplet shaped which helps to guide branches between the cutting teeth for a precise and even finish.

    The HLA 56 is part of our AK Battery System range of tools with interchangeable batteries - the battery in this tool can also be used in other tools in this range including a Line Trimmer, Blower, Lawnmowers, and Chainsaws.

    Q: How long will the Battery last?

    A: The recommend AK 20 Battery will last up to 100 minutes or enough time to trim up to 380m² of hedges. This does depend on what is being cut and how the tool is being used.

    Q: How long does it take to charge?

    A: To fully charge an AK 20 Battery it takes 180 minutes, or to charge it up to 80%, it takes 135 minutes with the AL 101 charger.

    Q: Are the Batteries Interchangeable?

    A: Yes, all of the tools in the AK Cordless System use the same style of battery. There are three different batteries in the range, which all have different capacities. For the HLA 56, we recommend the medium capacity AK 20 battery as it will provide the perfect balance between wieght and power, but you can also use the AK 10 and AK 30 battery in this tool.

    Q: Will the blades need sharpening?

    A: Keeping the blades sharp will give a neat cut on whatever you are trimming. If you notice that the blades are getting jammed easily or the machine is struggling, the blades may need sharpening. Our STIHL SHOP retailers can do this for you.

    Q: What should I wear when using this tool?

    A: We recommend that you wear snug-fitting clothes, eye protection, gloves and sturdy boots or shoes, and tie back long hair.

    Q: Does this tool come with a warranty?

    A: Yes, the HLA 56 comes with a STIHL domestic 2 year warranty.
