Q: What should I wear when using this tool?
A: We recommend that you wear snug-fitting clothes, ear and eye protection, gloves and sturdy boots or shoes, and tie back long hair.

A: Yes - The HS 45 comes with a STIHL 2-year domestic warranty. This can be doubled when purchased with STIHL HP ULTRA TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL and serviced annually at your local STIHL SHOP.
Mixing fuel
This petrol Hedge Trimmer uses a 1:50 mixture of engine oil and petrol. We recommend STIHL HP ULTRA TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL as it is designed specifically for STIHL engines.
Improving the longevity of your Hedge Trimmer
STIHL tools are designed to last, you can increase the life of your HS 45 Hedge Trimmer further by keeping it clean after use, using only fresh STIHL fuel, and receiving a regular service at your local STIHL SHOP.
Your first free service
To ensure your tool is working efficiently we offer a first free service for all our petrol tools. This must be completed by your local STIHL SHOP after 5 hours of use or a month after purchase (which ever is first)
Ongoing service and technical support
Your local STIHL SHOP can provide technical support and assistance for the life of your machine. In addition STIHL continues to make spare parts for 10 years after they have retired a product from production - so buying a STIHL is always a great long term investment.
Storing your Hedge Trimmer
Keep your Hedge Trimmer on a flat surface with its scabbard on to protect the blades (and yourself). Avoid leaving it sitting with fuel in its tank for extended periods of time.
